Simply Seafood Market & Cajun Diner: Fresh Seafood Delight in Bardstown, KY

The service here was good. Prices for crab legs was over double the price of market value which is disappointing. The catfish was okay. Mac-n-cheese was kind of bland. Grilled shrimp was decent. The crawfish boil was good.

We have driven by a million times… Finally popped in for lunch! I had crab cakes with fries and slaw… my husband had the flounder… both were delicious!

I love everything about this place! The people, the service, the food, their prices, and even their sweet tea! I'm there usually once a week and they know me by name. Simply seafood is where it's all at!

Friends recommend this place. We decided to give it a try. I was told the fly fresh Seafood in daily. Our food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The breading was great. Best kept secret in Bardstown...you won't find fresher seafood anywhere around.

Fresh seafood in Kentucky!??? - YES! While traveling through we were looking for a local place with great food, saw this and thought we would at least stop in and give it a try. We are so glad we did! I haven’t had seafood like this since we were at the Gulf last year. The place is very casual ‘come as you are’ with picnic tables inside a screened porch area as well as outside. Meals are served in to-go boxes. Inside you will find a few tables, spices for sale, and a counter of fresh fish, seafood, and even crawfish to put on ice and take home after your meal. We ordered the grilled shrimp and red snapper…they were both cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fish was flakey and the shrimp tender. We had to try their pineapple dumpling….it was gone in a matter of seconds - the only thing missing was a scoop of ice cream to go with it. The prices are very good as a comparable plate at any coastal town would have cost well over $20. Bathrooms were clean and parking was good. This is a seafood place with no frills - just fresh seafood cooked to order and/or take home fresh. The menu is expansive and I was pleasantly surprised at how many different items they had to offer. Again…super casual and laid back - a place you can jump in the car after a long day to enjoy some great food. If you are within an hour or so driving distance…I would definitely say it’s worth the drive.

Holy Cow! Or Holy Shrimp. Someone moved a gulf shores restaurant up to Bardstown! I had the Shrimp Boil, with Cajun sausage, red potatoes, a short cob of corn. It was slap your momma good. A little pricey, but certainly more than worth it. I will be back!!!

Not expecting a good seafood restaurant in rural Kentucky. The food was awesome. The wait was long. The atmosphere was meh. It is worth visiting because the food was on point. I suspect that it was an unusual night when I went because the wait to get the food was longer than normal. Great take out place. Definitely order before you go.

The flavors were excellent. The fish fries and Hush Puppies, we're very good. However, the gator was overcooked and extremely rubbery. Very nice atmosphere but could use more seating.
